New Show Alert (Aug 2020)

A new month means new shows to discover! This month four new titles will be released, including Ji Soo’s first drama in a leading role – When I Was the Most Beautiful. We have a good array of genres this month from rom-coms to mysteries to fantasy, so there is surely one show for everyone.

Graceful Friends

  • Genre: Mystery, Crime, Drama

A group of couples in their 40s live in a new city. Their peaceful lives are shaken when a mysterious murder takes place, and each person in their group are considered suspects. Following one of the couples Ahn Goong-Chul (Yu Jun-Sang) and his wife Nam Jung-Hae (Song Yoon-Ah), past secrets are unveiled and danger looms over their close-knit group. Expected to be in the same league as Sky Castle and A World of Married Couple, Graceful Friends is going to be an intense ride.

In this sci-fi anthology of eight standalone films, these have one thing in common – futuristic worlds of artificial intelligence, augmented realities, virtual realities, and robots. We’re looking forward to this stellar cast the most: Super Junior’s Choi Siwon is set to headline alongside After School UEE. Also starring are Sky Castle’s Kim Bo-Ra, our Ssangmun-dong jokester Lee Dong-Hwi, and drama newcomer EXID Hani.

When I was The Most Beautiful

Since this is a Ji-Soo drama, will there be some SLS still for all of us? Will he get the girl this time? Oh Ye-Jin (Im Soo-Hyang) is a ceramic artist who dreams of finding ordinary happiness, but life throws her a twist when she gets entangled in a love triangle with brothers Seo-Hwan (Ji Soo) and Seo-Jin (Ha Seok-Jin).

Seo-Hwan is an architectural designer, while Seo-Jin is a race car driver. They both fall in love with Ye-Jin immediately after they meet her, but one has to let go and sacrifice for the other to truly find happiness. They are also joined by femme fatale Carrie Jung (Hwang Seung-Eon) – Seo-Jin’s ex-girlfriend.

Missing the Other Side

In a village where 10,000 ordinary people get missing every year, a team forms to find the missing and uncover the truth behind their disappearances.

The team led by Kim Wook (Ko Soo) – a smooth talking conman – is accompanied by Jang Pan-Seok (Heo Jun-Ho), Kim Wook’s mysterious right-hand man; Lee Jong Ah (Ahn So-Hee), a public officer and hacker; and lastly, Shin Joon-Ho (Ha Joon), a high-level detective. Intriguing and thrilling – we’re all curious how this mystery will be uncovered.
