Veterans and Newcomers in Now We Are Breaking Up

From Now, We Are Breaking Up, we can already feel the melancholic feels of the drama just by the way Song Hye Kyo and Jang Ki Yong gazed at each other. But before we delve into the world of romance and nostalgia, let us get to know some of the veterans and newcomers we will look forward to in this new romantic Kdrama.

Song Hye Kyo

Song Hye Kyo is undoubtedly one of South Korea’s most beautiful women. She exudes an angel-like aura that resonates every time she’s on-screen. As one of the Hallyu Wave pioneers, Song Hye Kyo became well-loved not only in South Korea but also overseas. Her legendary Kdramas such as Worlds Within sealed the deal of her popularity in this industry. She also won the Grand Prize (Daesang), the highest award for television at the APAN Star Awards for her exceptional role in a drama with Jo In Sung.

After many years, her acting prowess and timeless beauty never cease to amaze everyone. Her 2016 hit drama Descendants of the Sun even reached peak viewership ratings of 41.6% in South Korea. She then got another Daesang for the said drama at the 2016 KBS Drama Awards, dominated popularity polls in Asia, and became the top pick of luxury brands, proving that she is the one and only Hallyu Goddess.

Jang Ki Yong

Jang Ki Yong’s humble beginnings as a model in YG Entertainment and YGKplus back in 2012 led him to an unexpected path. He had a cameo role as Lee Sung Kyung’s boyfriend in It’s Alright, This is Love which embarked on a new journey in his acting career. From then on, his versatility showed through various acting roles with diverse genres such as Come and Hug Me and Go Back Couple. He also received the best new actor award at the 55th Baeksang Awards for his role in Come and Hug Me. Aside from his capabilities, Jang Ki Young is also known for his dancing and singing skills, proof of how multi-talented he is.

Choi Hee Seo

Choi Hee Seo’s acting career began in 2006 when she starred in an independent film titled The Importance of Talking Together. In the year 2009, she started to play minor roles in mainstream films. Her wide range of acting experience, working with indie film creators and commercial film producers, equipped and strengthened her performance in the industry. With this, Choi Hee Seo landed her first major role in 2017. From then on, she received various recognitions because of her exceptional acting skills.

Kim Joo Hun

Kim Joo Hun is considered to be one of the familiar faces in Kdrama land. He began to make a name for himself in the year 2013. In the year 2016, he finally made his television acting debut and, in 2020, he played a major role in Dr. Romantic 2 as Dr. Park Min Guk. His stellar performance gave him the award for Best Supporting Actor at the 28th SBS Drama Awards. Aside from these, Kim Joo Hun also had notable appearances in the following Kdramas: Kill It and Encounter.

Oh Sehun

Sehun made his debut back in 2012 as a member of EXO, one of the most popular K-pop boy groups under SM Entertainment. EXO is an all-arounder group, topping music charts every comeback and, now, proving to us that they also have what it takes to conquer the Kdrama world. In 2015, he made his acting debut in a web series featuring the members of EXO. In the succeeding years, he made several variety show appearances. Most of his acting stints are supporting roles but in 2018, he got a major role via an action-packed series with Kang Min A and Ahn Bo Hyun. Fast forward to this year, Oh Sehun is bound to work with the best actors and actresses in the industry and, now, it’s time for him to show us once again he has what it takes to be a successful actor.

Moon Joo Yeon

A lot like many of the people working in the Korean Entertainment industry, Moon Joo Yeon started her career as a model. The model-turned-actress showed conformability in acting through different music videos including “1 of 1” by SHINee. However, her official debut as an actress has only dated back in 2018. Similar to Moon Joo Yeon, she also started as a model and made her debut in the acting scene through the romantic comedy web drama released in 2017.Opportunities continued to outpour from then on, as she started playing interesting characters like her role in Kairos.
