The winner of the night – Beyond Evil! (Best Drama, Best Actor, Best Screenplay)
Beyond Evil took home three major awards — Best Drama, Best Actor (Shin Ha-Kyun), and Best Screenplay (Kim Su-Jin) — at the 57th Baeksang Awards. The series started as your usual police-crime genre, but the unexpected twist in the drama — coupled with Shin Ha-Kyun and Yeo Jin-Goo’s acting skills — is what makes this series a masterpiece.
Daesang for Yoo Jae-Suk!
The Nation’s MC has a number of Daesang Awards under his belt. He is part of the hit variety show Running Man. His show, Hangout with Yoo, also won Best Entertainment Program at the awards ceremony. Plus, he has another show on Viu called Sixth Sense. Juggling so many variety shows, his hard work definitely deserves to be recognized.
A well-deserved win for Kim So-Yeon (Best Actress)
Cheon Seo-Jin didn’t deserve to win any award, but Kim So -eon surely did! Playing a strong and scheming villain, playing Cheon Seo-Jin is no easy feat. Power in every scene – you know a great actress when she’s a sweet person in real life but despicable on-screen. She will once again return in The Penthouse 3 coming this June 2021.
Lee Seung-Gi and Jang Do-Yeon take the cake, as two of the best variety show veterans in the industry. Aside from hosting All the Butlers, Lee Seung-Gi is also a famous actor (currently starring in crime thriller Mouse) and singer. Jang Do-Yeon, on the other hand, is a famous comedian. Multi-talented, multi-faceted, and very charismatic – definitely deserving of the awards as Best Male and Female Entertainer!
